All Is Well in Johnstown

I hope this post finds all of you excited for the upcoming holiday weekend. I'm sure most of you have seen the news footage of the devastation that occurred about 10 miles Northeast of us yesterday and I am happy to say that we are all doing great. All of our friends are accounted for and after being told we would be with out power for 3-5 days it was a nice surprise to have the lights turn on around 5:40 a.m. this morning.

We were on the very edge of the storm and received lots of rain and some minor hail, nothing baseball sized. All of our Milliken friends will need their roofs, gutters and gardens replaced. Some of them have holes in their yards from the hail. Lots of car windows were also broken out in that area.

Ava's IEP was Tuesday and it went surprisingly well. The process is not over yet and with all that has happened since then it seems a distant memory. I am very pleased with the therapists and their excitement, if you will, to work with Ava. None of them have had experience with CVI but seem to be ready and able to do what needs to be done for the little red head. Sarah, Ava's anchor teacher, attended the meeting which was a big load off of my shoulders. I'll continue to update on the process and where we're at.

Have a great weekend doing whatever it is you do. Joe's dad will be showing up here today and the Knigge's will be here Sunday for a visit all the way from Fremont. We may be in for another round of storms today but I'm sure it will pale in comparison to yesterdays. Thanks for all the phone calls and concern. Be safe this holiday!
